Michael Essien is a veteran of Public Education with 30 years of experience. He taught in the classroom for 21 years: Algebra 1, Geometry, Alg 2/Trigonometry, Resource Specialist, and Special Day Class Case Manager. Michael has 8 years experience as a site administrator addressing equity in SFUSD.

I started my career in the year 2000 as a high school teacher in San Jose. I transitioned to teaching middle school in East Palo Alto. I served as a central office ELD coach, and site BTSA coach as well as PBIS site coordinator. I am currently in my first year as principal of Aptos Middle School after 7 years as principal of Dolores Huerta Elementary, formerly Fairmount.

Sonny Wong has a long history with SFUSD. She began in SFUSD as a HS student and is a former SFUSD parent (Sunset, Hoover and Galileo). She has taught 1st, 3rd and 5th Grade, supported SFUSD Core Curriculum development and implementation as a Math Content Specialist in C&I, served as an Elementary site administrator at three schools and is now working in Middle School for the first time.

Silvia was a student in SFUSD, a bilingual teacher at Bryant Elementary, an IRF at Drew, Sanchez and Monroe Elementary schools. She also was an Assistant Principal at Sanchez ES and Paul Revere K-8. She is currently in her 10th year as Principal at El Dorado Elementary School.

Principal, Ulloa Elementary School
Carol Fong started her career as a high school and middle school teacher. She worked as Program Supervisor in Human Resources handling staffing for the Elementary and EED sites. Her experience in Human Resources led her to the Labor Relations Office in which she served as Program Supervisor tasked with district negotiations and grievances. Feeling the urge to reconnect with students and families, she returned to the schools as the principal of Ulloa elementary school…her favorite part of her journey in Education. Her passion is gardening, music, and traveling.

Krishna Kassebaum, MS
Assistant Principal, Roosevelt Middle School
I started my career as a special education para in 1998. I taught special education for many years in the East Bay, and transitioned to SFUSD as a Content Specialist in 2005. I was a BTSA Sped Coach, and transitioned to the role of an AP in 2015, and this is my 7th year as an AP, 6 of them at Roosevelt MS. When I’m not at work, I’m surfing or cooking.

Anastasia Klafter, HS
Principal, Independence High School
A San Francisco native, Anna came to SFUSD from Boston Public Schools, where she spent three years as the Chief Academic Officer of TechBoston Academy, a 6th-12th grade school in the Dorchester neighborhood. Anna was a special educator and English Language Arts teacher for eight years in San Diego and Boston, and she is also a proud parent of an SFUSD 7th grader and 4th grader.

Shari Balisi has been in the district for over 24 years. She began her career in Early Education at San Miguel Children's Center. She then moved on to Peer Resources at the middle and secondary level. She then became a high school counselor. She began her admin years at Lincoln High School.

Ben was a graduate of SFUSD, a social worker at Civic Center Secondary School, plus a Restorative Practices Coach and Administrator with the Student, Family, Community, Support Division where he is currently a Supervisor. When Ben isn’t serving the students and families of SFUSD he’s bike riding with his 4 year old daughter Sequoia in Golden Gate Park.

Caroline began teaching in SFUSD in 1986. She has also been a TSA, an AP, and a program administrator. She is a native San Franciscan who is a product of the system, and whose children also graduated from SFUSD schools.

Sharon started her career as a paraeducator, then worked in social services with homeless families. She worked as a school counselor in SFUSD for many years, transitioning into administration taking over CTE and dual enrollment. She is currently leading the Para to Teacher Program and coordinating with university partners to create a robust and diverse teacher pipeline for the district.

Nancy Lambert-Campbell currently serves as the Principal at Tule Elk Early Education School. Nancy has dedicated 20 years to the San Francisco Unified School District. Nancy started her career as a high school English teacher and athletic coach, an instructional reform facilitator and then an assistant principal and now serves as a principal.

Since retiring in 2013 she has intermittently supported schools as a retired administrative substitute. She is honored to now support administrators by serving alongside her colleagues as Co-Executive Director of UASF.

Robert D. (“Bo) Links
Legal Counsel
Robert D. (“Bo”) Links is of counsel to the firm of Slote Links & Boreman in San Francisco. He is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of the University of California at Berkeley and earned his law degree from UCLA Law School. Bo has practiced law since 1974 presenting cases in state and federal courts and before administrative agencies such as the Public Employment Relations Board (PERB). Early in his career, Bo was instrumental in helping UASF become certified as the exclusive representative for supervisory employees in the SFUSD. He has represented us ever since. Bo has a wide variety of legal expertise and among his areas of emphasis are education law and labor law.
