Petition Link: Unions of SFUSD Solidarity for Safety
This is an inclusive SFUSD unions petition, the unions of SFUSD agree that labor agreements are specific to each bargaining unit’s working conditions and need to be in place before any school sites are reopened.
We deserve: adequate ventilation in our school and worksites, small cohorts of students and workers at each site, PPE and training, safe and reliable public transportation, comprehensive surveys that engage students and parents about real detailed reopening plans, clear and transparent health and safety plans for all school and worksites, accessible staff and student testing, as well as more City, State and Federal resources for our underfunded schools.
This petition is a way for us to communicate to our members and colleagues about the ways that all unionized workers in the District are united around safety, and also a way for workers across unions to show solidarity around these united demands.
School staff working conditions are students learning conditions. We can build upon this unity and district wide worker expertise to meet future issues and crises together as we fight for the safe and equitable school and worksites that we and our communities deserve.
12.11.20-Jolie and Joan met with the SFUSD Labor Union Partners to prepare for the upcoming joint meet and confer with SFUSD Labor. We are focusing on Health and Safety standards for school communities.
