1.29.21-Jolie attended the meet and confer between the Unions of SFUSD and the District.  Originally this was to be a bargaining session but the District changed the agenda in light of the newly released and revised COVID-19 and Reopening In-Person Instruction Framework & Public Health Guidance for K-12 Schools in California, 2020-2021 school year.

UASF Cohort Meetings:

1.27.21 Jolie met with Cohort 5, there were three members in attendance.  The majority of the time was spent talking about concerns around reopening of schools for in person learning:  there is double work for administrators, what will the classrooms look like, will there be time for administrators to collaborate with each other and share their plans, will there be time for teachers to set-up their classrooms, and what are the real dates to open.  Is Wave 2 still two weeks after Wave 1?  UASF wants to get information before it goes out to the public.

On-Going-The EDs, division representatives and officers continue to address individual and all members’ concerns. This week, UASF leaders reached out to support the Lowell administrative team over a virtual padlet hate crime incident and the on-going investigation. The administrative team has been working hard to investigate and address this incident.

Commissioner Alexander is a former SFUSD Principal who reinforced that he will look at items that come before him through the lens of a site leader. He also asked your elected representatives questions to help inform his decision making. VP Ron Lee, Caroline and Joan conferred to initiate a meeting with Commissioner Alexander and some site administrators about state testing.

1.26.21-The EDs held their weekly meeting and discussed how to best support specific members in addition to planning the phone interviews with the Phase 3 site leaders related to safely opening schools.
