Cohort Meetings
2.17.21-Jolie and Board of Director, Sonny Wong, met with Cohort 2 administrators who shared concerns around: walk through timeline being very short, feeling of a lack of understanding of how much we are doing, preparing for 3-5 grade in person learning, calendar for summer school and the year-round-school, vaccinations and testing.
2.17.21-Cohort 3-Jolie met with Cohort 3 administrators who shared concerns around: vaccinations, testing, short timelines, and preparation tasks for the opening of schools. Jeremy Hilinski volunteered to run cohort meetings since there is no Board of Director in Cohort 3. Next meeting is March 17.
2.18.21-Middle School Principals and APs met with Executive Board Directors Michael Stachon and Michael Essien and Joan and reviewed the TA for Health and Safety and fielded questions regarding vaccinations, if there was a date for secondary schools to open (not yet) and the need to be able to develop on student schedules as soon as possible and before school is out.
2.18.21-High School APs: VP Ron Lee and Executive Board Director Ellen Wong met with the HS APs and discussed updates on vaccination and testing. APs wanted to know dates and logistics on when and how vaccinations will take place before returning to sites for in-person learning; they wanted to know if the city and district have any plans on Feb. 24th. APs were also very concerned about administering upcoming high stake examinations, such as ELPAC, SBAC and Advanced Placement Exams. They were requesting if some of the testing must be done in person, they would like the district to provide central testing sites instead.
